A master’s degree in Physics can open the door to several career opportunities, including software development, banking, and teaching at undergraduate institutions or high school
Students will have two options for completing an M.S. in Physics — Plan I and Plan II
- The plan I require a thesis
- Plan II replaces the thesis with additional coursework
Plan II is recommended only for students planning to continue toward a more advanced degree, whether Ph.D. or M.D
Applicants should consider Plan I if:
- They are uncertain if they want to pursue a Ph.D. but would like to broaden their education
- They desire advanced study before employment in the industry

Bachelors	No specific cutoff mentioned Admission into the physics graduate program is by recommendation of the graduate admission committee of the Department of Physics The committee takes into consideration the following: an undergraduate degree in physics or a related field prior academic performance in physics courses verbal and quantitative scores on the GRE a personal statement of career goals prior research experience letters of recommendation

Additional info	Students may enter at the beginning of any semester, although assistantships and other financial support are normally allocated to students entering in the Fall semester
