  • The modern-day subject of chemistry is a dynamically-changing science that is about cutting-edge discoveries and the use of state-of-the-art techniques and technologies that impact almost every aspect of human life and almost every aspect of the development of human society.
  • In order to declare the chemistry major, students must complete 30 credit hours (10 courses), including the following:
    • six credit hours in chemistry
    • six credit hours in mathematics
    • six credit hours in physics (recommended) or six credit hours in another science other than mathematics
    • six credit hours in critical reading and writing (CRW) courses, including at least three credit hours in English

Entry Criteria

  • Applicants must hold one of the following: 
    • Higher Secondary School Certificate
    • Higher Secondary Certificate
    • Indian School Certificate
    • Intermediate Examination Certificate
    • All India or Delhi Senior School Certificate
    • Pre-University Certificate
  • Subjects required: 
    • English
    • Mathematics
    • Laboratory Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
    • Social Studies or Modern/Classical Language
    • Elective
  • Applicants must get a minimum overall grade of 50% in the required subject areas and this will normally be considered equivalent to no more than two grades less than 50% and a “pass” in all 5 subject areas
ExamsTOEFL: 79
  • A minimum score of 20 in reading and writing, and not less than 17 in listening and speaking.

IELTS: 6.5
  • At least a band 6 in reading and writing

PTE: 58
  • A minimum score of 58 in each of the reading, writing, listening and speaking 

Additional info
  • Applicants should be waived off from ELP if they have successful completion of three years of full-time instruction in an English language secondary institution including the completion of English at the Grade 12 or equivalent level.
