Mount Mary University

Mount Mary University is a nonprofit, private university for women that was established in 1913. It is supported by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. Since 1913, these courageous women have infused Mount Mary with strong values and a ravenous spirit. The college serves women at the undergraduate level and both women and men at the graduate level. The university selects about 1,500 students and offers bachelor’s degrees in more than 30 academic majors and eight master’s and doctoral degree programmes.

Mount Mary University has a student body of almost 1,500. The faculty to-understudy proportion is 1:15. Mount Mary is licensed by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The university offers a liberal arts foundation with more than 30 undergraduate majors leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. It additionally offers graduate programmes, including Professional Doctorate of Art Therapy, Master of Science in Art Therapy, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Counseling, Master of Science in Dietetics, Master of Arts in Education, Master of Arts in English, and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Post-baccalaureate certificate and post-baccalaureate Dietetic Internship programmes are also offered.

Mount Mary University additionally offers a double degree programme in association with the Medical College of Wisconsin. Through this programme, students can procure a double Baccalaureate and Master of Public Health degrees in five years. Undergraduate programmes are offered in philosophy/theology, communication/math, humanistic, literature/fine arts, and science. Mount Mary University’s Honors Program promotes superior academic accomplishment and gives an improved educational experience. The Honors Program gives chances to engage in courses intended to upgrade the academic experience and pose challenges too. The university also offers opportunities to excel in extracurricular activities and develop leadership skills. Further, it operates several student clubs and organizations, campus service exercises, honour societies, and athletics teams, as well as study abroad programmes.

The university has notable alumni. Elizabeth Barbone is a blogger and cookbook author of Easy Gluten-Free Baking. Whittaker Chambers is a writer, ex-Soviet spy, witness in Hiss Case (honorary doctorate of laws, 1952). Jana Champion is the deputy director of the Wisconsin Crime Laboratory Bureau.
