La Salle University

La Salle University is a private educational institution in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The university was founded in 1863 by the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. It is affiliated to Roman Catholic Church. It is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and holds several affiliations with professional associations.

The university’s campus spreads in an area of 130 acres. The university also offers a hybrid, traditional and online courses. La Salle has three schools dedicated to subjects like Nursing & Health Sciences, Business Administration, and Arts & Sciences. The UG courses are offered in subjects like Accounting 4 year course (B.S./MBA), Art History, Biochemistry, Biology, BBA, Business Systems & Analytics, Chemistry, Communication, Communication Management, Communication Sciences & Disorders – 4/5 year course, Computer Science (B.A/B.S.) and Criminal Justice. Other courses are offered in subjects like Digital Arts & Multimedia Design, Economics, English, and Finance.

The major scholarships offered by La Salle University to full-time students are Christian Brothers’ Scholarship – covers the full tuition fees of students for the whole semester, and Community Service Scholarship – offers financial aid of $5,000 per year and this can be clubbed with the Founder’s Scholarships. Around 98% of students receive grants and loans.

The alumni association of La Salle University aims to connect students and alumni with one another. The association helps students get placed internationally. It also assists in placement offers. The alumni association has over 56,000 alumni living in 50 US states. La Salle University’s notable alumni include people serving United States House of Representatives and the Pennsylvania General Assembly. Some of the distinguished alumni are Willian Joseph Burns, former Deputy Secretary of State & Diplomat; Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney; and Emmy award winner Peter Boyke. Other notable alumni are Meredith Marakovits – Yankees clubhouse reporter and Micheal J. Stack III – Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania, as well as three congressmen, namely Dwight Evans, Madeleine Dean, and Brian Fitzpatrick.
