Cambridge College

In 1971, a small group of educators created an educational institution, now known as Cambridge College, whose primary mission was to provide educational opportunities and degree attainment for working adults who did not have ready access to higher education. It was first known as The Institute of Open Education within Newton College of the Sacred Heart, and later became part of the Antioch University Network. In 1981, it became an independent, private non-profit institution with the current name. It is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education

It specializes in degree programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Also, it offers distance learning and blended programs in counseling, education, psychology, health care management, management, and human services. The institute is one of the five colleges in Massachusetts that were honored by Teacher.org with the Best Value designation in 2019-2020. It is ranked first in gender parity in mass higher than education. The MBA program offered at Cambridge College was recognized in the Boston Business Journal’s list of “Largest MBA Programs in Massachusetts” and was ranked 16th overall. Around 98% of the college’s graduates have successfully completed all MTELs – Massachusetts Tests for Educator License. Even Cambridge College’s students’ BCBA Exam Pass Rates have been notably higher than the national average. It is also ranked 7th in America and among the top 5 B-schools that award the most number of degrees to African Americans.

For more than 45 years Cambridge College has been a leader and pioneer in adult learning. With the main campus in Boston, the college has study centers in 4 other regional locations. Each year, the college enrolls over 3,000 students in its undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degree programs.

It maintains departments dedicated to undergraduate studies, education, management, and psychology & counseling.
