  • The five-year Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery degree course makes school-leavers into practising doctors
  • In the first two years, basic medical science is taught as a series of courses organised into four concurrent themes: molecular/cellular aspects of medicine; human structure and function; healthcare in the community; and early clinical and professional development
  • In the third year, students undertake a supervised research project of their choice, leading to the award of BMedSci
  • After successful completion of the BM BS degree, graduates are required to undergo a further two years of foundation doctor training

  • Indian Higher Secondary Certificate (Class XII) CBSE or CISCE Boards: grades ranging from  84% to 93%
  • India Higher Secondary Certificate (Class XII) Maharashtra State Board: grades ranging from  84% to 93%
  • Indian Higher Secondary Certificate (Class XII) West Bengal Board: grades ranging from 74% to 83%
  • Indian Higher Secondary Certificate (Class XII) All Other State Boards: grades ranging from 89% to 98%
  • Subjects Required: Biology, Chemistry
Work experienceRequired
  • Applicants should complete regular work experience when applying for medicine.

  • This can be:

    • Volunteering in a care related setting
    • Volunteering with disadvantaged groups
    • Paid employment in a job working with the general public
  • Due to Covid-19, University is not expecting any work experience to have taken place or be ongoing after March 2020
  • Applicant's application for 2021 entry will not be negatively affected if you’ve been unable to complete the work experience.
